Step 1
Place circle blank on stamping block. Position ‘Vine Wreath’ Ultra Detail Design Stamp in the center of the blank. Use the Tilt & Tap technique to stamp 6mm and larger stamps, or stamps with more details. While applying pressure to the stamp, strike once with medium force. Then without lifting stamp, continue to strike while very slightly tilting the stamp in a circular motion to catch all sides of the design.
TIP: If the stamp has an ImpressArt logo, make sure it is facing you so that the impression is stamped in the correct direction.
TIP: Use stamp tape to secure the blank to the stamping block so it doesn’t move while stamping.
Step 2
Secure a straight stamp guide on blank. Use the guide marks to evenly space out letters and align stamp impressions.
TIP: Write desired message directly onto the stamp guide and utilize the guideline marks for spacing.
Step 3
Place stamp on blank, above the corresponding mark on the stamp guide. Lightly drag stamp towards the guide until the stamp catches the edge of the guide. Hold stamp flat and firmly in place by anchoring the side of your hand on workspace. Then strike stamp once with medium force using Metal Stamping Hammer. Repeat to complete desired word.
TIP: Slightly tilt the stamp towards you while dragging the stamp towards the guide. Make sure you hold the stamp flat and firmly in place before striking the stamp.
Step 4
Pierce a hole on the left and right side of the circle blank using the 1/16” punch of the 2 Hole Screw Down Punch. Simply turn the handle of the screw down punch until the punch pierces through the stamping blank. Twist the handle of the screw down punch in the opposite direction to raise the punch and remove blank.
TIP: Make sure not to screw the punch down too much as this will mar the surface of the blank and leave an unwanted impression of the base of the screw.
Step 5
Highlight impressions with Stamp Enamel. Wait 3-5 minutes and then wipe away the excess enamel from the surface of the blank.
Step 6
Give the circle blank a slight convex (outward) curve using the Ring Bending Pliers. Hold the blank so that the pierced holes on the blank align with the left and right side of the pliers’ nylon jaws. Then begin in the center of the blank and squeeze down. Work towards each side and the end of the blank closet to the pliers’ handle to give the blank a slight convex (outward) curved finish. Turn blank around and repeat technique to curve other side of blank.
Step 7
Use flush cutters to cut a piece of artistic wire that is about the same length as the circumference of your finger (this piece of wire will form the band of the ring). Grasp the end of the wire between the jaws of the round nose pliers. Rotate the pliers, keeping a firm grip on the wire, until a small round loop is formed. Then create another round loop at the other end of the wire.
Step 8
Give the wire a slight convex (outward) curved using the Ring Bending Pliers. Begin in the center of the wire and squeeze down. Work towards each end to give blank a slight convex (outward) curved finish.
Step 9
Now connect the wire band to the circle blank. Use the tips of two chain nose pliers to grasp the sides of one of the rounded ends, with the opening of the loop facing up between the two pliers. Laterally twist each side of the loop in opposite directions to open. Slide one side of the circle blank, with the impression facing down, onto the loop. Laterally twist the loop back with tension to close. Repeat on other side.
TIP: Do NOT pull outwards on eye pins or jump ring as it will weaken the metal and distort the circular shape.
