Step 1
Rotate stamping block so it's positioned in a diamond shape. Arrange blanks in preferred order on block. Mark with a non-permanent marker the desired location of each hole.
Step 2
Pierce holes in the blanks using the 3/32" punch of the Two Hole Screw Down Punch. Line up the screw punch with the mark on the stamping blank. Once the punch and the mark are aligned, simply turn the handle of the screw down punch until the screw punch pierces through the stamping blank, leaving a clean crisp hole. Then twist the handle of the screw down punch in the opposite direction to raise the screw down punch and remove blank. Wipe off any remaining marks.
TIP: Make sure not to screw the punch down too much as this will mar the surface of the blank and leave an unwanted impression of the base of the screw.
Step 3
Place circle blank on stamping block. Stamp desired words or design on blank with the help of stamp guides. Hold stamps flat and firmly in place by anchoring the side of your hand on workspace. Strike design stamps once with medium force using the Metal Stamping Hammer. Use the Tilt & Tap technique to stamp 6mm and larger stamps, or stamps with more details. While applying pressure to the stamp, strike once with medium force. Then without lifting stamp, continue to strike while very slightly tilting the stamp in a circular motion to catch all sides of the design. Set blank aside.
TIP: If the stamp has an ImpressArt logo, make sure it is facing you so that the impression is stamped in the correct direction.
TIP: Use stamp tape to secure the blank to the stamping block so it doesn’t move while stamping.
TIP: Create a bevel effect around the edge of the stamping blank by using a ball pein texture stamp in the ImpressArt Multi-Function Hammer. Stamp only the edge of the blank repeatedly with medium force until the entire outside edge of the blank is textured.
Step 4
Place texture stamp of your choice in the Multi-Function Hammer, with the notch in the stamp facing down (when notch is available). Secure stamp in the hammer by tightening the screw at the bottom of the hammer.
Set a bracelet blank on stamping block. Hold the hammer with your palm of your hand over the screw and use one finger, off to the side, to hold the blank in place. Then stamp the blank repeatedly with medium force until the entire blank is textured. Set blank aside.
TIP: Make sure you don't over texture the hole on the blank.
Step 5
Place a crescent outline blank on block. Stamp design stamps and textures of your choice to further personalize each blank. Repeat until each crescent outline blank is stamped to your preferred liking. Set blanks aside.
Step 6
Close the clasp of the ball chain. Use jewelry adhesive to attach the clasp to the back of the circle blank, and allow to dry.
Step 7
Use the tips of two chain nose pliers to grasp the sides of a jump ring, with the opening of the jump ring facing up between the two pliers. Laterally twist each side of the jump ring in opposite directions to open the ring. Slide one of the top two holes on the bracelet blank onto the jump ring and then drape the ball chain over the open ring. Laterally twist the jump ring back with tension to close. Repeat to attach ball chain to the other side of the bracelet blank so that the ball chain runs horizontally along the backside of the bracelet blank.
NOTE: Do NOT pull outwards on the jump ring as it will weaken the metal and distort the circular shape of the ring.
Step 8
Connect the crescent outline blanks to the bottom holes on the bracelet blank using the same jump ring technique. Repeat until all crescent outline blanks are attached.
Step 9
Use the fine and super fine grit on the High Polish Finishing Block to clean and buff metal to a high shine.
Note: High Polish Finish Blocks & Matte Finish Buffing blocks can be used al ImpressArt blanks excluding ImpressArt Artisan collection plated blanks.
Step 10
Attach desired length of yarn to each crescent outline blank using a Lark’s Head Knot. Fold the length of the yarn in half at the center. Take the fold and slide it through the middle of the crescent shape. Take the two ends of the yarn and pass them through the loop made by the fold of the yarn. Pull tight to secure yarn to blank.
Step 11
Use a pair of scissors to trim and shape the yarn.
